ATIN and Jollibee Group Foundation’s fun activities for children from Streetlight Orphanage, who survived typhoon Yolanda

November 26, 2013 Posted under: Events

Early November 2013, one of the strongest storm ever recorded in history Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) cut a massive destruction in the Philippines.

On November 17, 2013, a group of brave orphans who were rescued and aided by Director Erlend Johannesen and was featured on CNN, arrived at the Cebu port from Tacloban. It was intended for them to be relocated to Davao the same evening to perhaps seek refuge in another city. ATIN is fortunate to collaborate with Jollibee Group Foundation to organize a day of fun activities. There were also several psychiatrists and counselor present who volunteered their time (Dr. Nancy Cinco, Dr. Doris Largo, Dr. Michelene Buot, and Dr. Virmi Neri) for counseling to help the children with their traumatic experience and work towards a new phase in their lives. This day has profoundly provided the children with a sense of hope.

ATIN would like to thank everyone involved who made this event possible for the children. Glory be to God!
